This one happens to be my brothers' old bedroom (the one with all the food storage in it).

This was exactly the state of every room in my mother's house, plus the attic, when I was 'allowed' to visit after my father died - her excuse had always been his increasingly worsening Parkinson's... I was completely taken by surprise.
We sold that and moved her into a beautiful cottage.... Which now begins to resemble the old place. We're going this Friday to let her know how this affects us - exactly as in another of your posts about the stacking Russian dolls, things over people. No room to stay in the 3 bedroom place, no desire to visit when there's no surface uncluttered. It's sad and sickening.
Thank you for sharing this, at least we're not alone, as we had thought.
